Cobra Lilies
Active 2005-2010.
Cobra Lilies was a large (13+ members!), mostly acoustic band emphasizing harmony singing and dance routines. Members were not really required to play an instrument so much as be willing to show up on time for rehearsals, which was enough; we ended up having some members who were “band,” some who danced, and some who did both. Cobra Lilies put out two EPs and recorded 95% of a third, which was unfortunately never finished. Several of us went on to form Madame Headdress after Cobra Lilies broke up.
Discography
In The Key of Bicycle Bell, 2009 Single-sided 12″ white vinyl EP. For our first record we pressed one-sided records and hand-silkscreened art on the blank side of a few copies! It looked glorious but kind of messed with the audio quality on the music side a little; there are also un-silkscreened copies that sound great.

Crazy Summer Sweater Party, 2010 CDR with handmade covers. For our second EP we couldn’t afford to press vinyl so we made CD-R’s and everyone in the band made beautiful handmade covers (I think everyone did? Almost everyone).
